Grew up in little Belvidere NE, had a dirt go kart track in the back yard at 5yo. Helped dad spray paint his bomber/factory stock cars and formed a love for racing. Got a 1974 MR50 Honda Elsinore dirtbike for my 7th birthday and dad built me a track in the same yard (shovel work). Started racing motocross at 9yo on a Kawasaki KX60. Won a series championship in 1993 on a Honda CR80. Continued racing motocross through the age of 16 with moderate success. At 15yo won the mechanics race at Thayer County Speedway in Dad's Factory Stock, first time in a big car. At 16yo raced dad's Factory Stock a couple of times at US 30 Speeday and finished top 5 on second night out. Dad then got a Dwarf car and I spent a few years as his crew chief. We took some time away from racing after that until 2002 and I started my racing career in Limited Modifieds at Beatrice Speedway.
