With the release of the 2023 schedule last week, many race teams and fans noticed something new. It may have been April Fool's Day but there was no fooling at 81 Speedway as we kicked of the season with some really good racing through out the night and the race of the night was the Alternative Pest Management USRA Modifieds. The race started with T.J. Tolan in the 99T getting off to a great start by getting the lead and running away with it but with the back of the field trying to catch him. Well the night was kicked off with the Heyglassman.com Stock Cars and it did not let us down as they had enough cars for four heats and a B Feature. The Heat race winners where Clint Smith in the 12C, Eric Cross in the 57C, Brandon Conkwright in the 24B, and Beau Davis in the 01X. and the B Feature winner was the 99A of Aaron Esparza. Well the night at 81 Speedway started with some make up features that had gotten rained out so we started with the Auto Tech Service Super Stocks. The driver having a good run in the make up feature was the 11 out of Hutchinson,KS of Scott Miller. Then we ran the Make up feature for the JLR Property Management 316 Mods and picking up the win in the make up feature was the 25C of Johnny Cammon out of Wichita, KS. Well the night got started with a make up A Feature with our Alternative Pest Management USRA Modifieds that had been postponed from our action on July 8th. Well in the make up feature we saw a bad wreck take out some of our competitors. We saw the driver of the 127 of Paden Phillips pick up his first win at 81 speedway in the 2023 season.
