Building off of a stellar 2021 campaign, the World of Outlaws Late Models are prepared for a bigger 2022 with bigger purses, bigger races and new surprises along the way.
Releasing their schedule earlier this week, 81 Speedway has earned a date on the 2022 calendar welcoming the Most Powerful Late Models on the Planet Saturday October 22nd. The Saturday night stop is race number two of a three race swing through Kansas and Missouri. The series visits Humboldt Speedway on Friday the 21st then makes a stop at U.S. 36 Raceway in Osborn, MO on Sunday the 23rd.
Early drivers of note for next October's event include "B-Shepp" Brandon Sheppard and "The Reaper" Ryan Gustin.
Having made 2 USMTS Modified starts at 81 Speedway in the last two years, the now 4 time and defending WoO LM series champion Brandon Sheppard eyes a return to the facility where he dominated the only prior event in series history in 2017. Sheppard would set what still stands at the Late Model division track record (16.846 seconds) that night before sweeping his heat race and A-Main action later in the evening.
Coming off of rookie season that saw huge gains in momentum toward the end of the year, Ryan Gustin has the Kansas double-header circled on his 2022 calendar. Turning a plethora of laps in both USMTS and USRA Modified competition, "The Reaper" has multiple high profile victories on his resume at both Kansas facilities.
