Playing the supporting role as the lone local division along side a double dose of traveling winged sprint car series, the HeyGlassman.com Stock Cars once again thrilled the hometown crowd with one of the best races of the evening. While thin on cars with just 11 competitors signing in for the evening, positions changed hand inside the top five early and often around the 3/8ths mile oval.
Outside pole sitter Scott Miller jumped out to the early lead while Austin Ramey, Joey Richmond, and Beau Davis all engaged in a heated battle for the runner up spot. After racing side by side with Ramey for a handful of laps, third starting Davis found the extreme bottom side of the speedway to his liking, wrestling second away from Richmond on lap 5.
While Davis set to work trying to chase down Miller, Ramey and Richmond raced sided by side for third, while Clint Smith held off challenges from both Chris Holle and AJ Finch for a spot in the top 5.
When the checkers fell, Miller held off a hard charging Davis at the end. Austin Ramey scored the final podium spot, while Joey Richmond and point leader Clint Smith completed the top 5. The two hear race wins on the evening when to Davis and Richmond.
Next Saturday June 26th is Equipment Share (VLP) Corporate Night featuring the 2nd Annual USAC Border Wars - an all out war between the USAC Wingless Sprints Oklahoma and the Midwest Wingless Racing Association. Local division joining the action will be Alternative Pest Management USRA Modifieds, The Chunky Poodle USRA B-Mods, Primal Beef Jerky Mini Stocks, and Midwest Wrap Co. IMCA Mod Lites.
Adult General admission tickets for $12.00, Senior 65+ & Military $10.00, Children 10 & under are free. Gates open at 5 pm, racing starts at 7pm.
