Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (June 3, 2020) – Four Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions races are on tap for Dominic Scelzi.
The Cometic Gasket Thunder Through the Plains presented by Hercules Tires begins on Thursday at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla., before shifting to Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Okla., on Friday. Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oktaha, Okla., hosts a race on Saturday with a Sunday event at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., wrapping up the weekend.
It will be Scelzi’s first appearance at all four tracks.
“I think it’s important to be racing as much as we can right now so running four nights is something I’m excited about,” he said. “We haven’t been as good in our 410 as we’ve done in 360 races this season. Four nights at four different tracks will be a big help for us to try to get back on track.”
Scelzi raced with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series last weekend at Lake Ozark Speedway. Improvement was made from Friday – a night that ended with a DNF in the Last Chance Showdown – to Saturday’s event finale. Scelzi qualified better and finished in a better position in each race throughout the night compared to the opener.
A sixth-place result in a heat race narrowly missed locking into the A Main. However, Scelzi placed third in the Last Chance Showdown to transfer into the back of the main event. He then gained a half-dozen positions to place 17th.
“We changed a bunch of stuff and pretty much went back to what we were doing last year to get some familiarity,” he said. “We were better Saturday, but we still need to work hard to keep taking steps forward.”
The six positions gained were the second most of the drivers in the race.
