*This past Saturday at the 3/8 mile located just on the edge of Park city Kansas brought fast paced racing action and a ton of fans to fill the stands. 81 Speedway wants to thank all of the merchants that helped us hand out the tickets in Park City Kansas. Also we want to recognize Arnold Stoner and send peace and condolences to his amazing family, it was a different feeling looking in the stands and him not sitting in row 11 seat #1. Godspeed. With 5 divisions on tap and 25 of the USRA A-mods checked in the crowd was ready to rock.
We started off the evening with the TM Fencing LLC Super Stocks. Some nights just mean more than just racing. It was a great battle with Shawn Allen jr, Theron Eveland’s, and Jerrod Reimer from the start. Reimer again sustained mechanical issues and made an early exit while Dustin Frenya to jump into the mix. Kenny Sweet had a tough night but that allowed Shawn Allen Jr to keep the 5 at the front and park it in O’reilly Auto Parts/ Logan’s landscaping Victory Lane. Shawn was emotional and thanked the McGehee family for allowing him to fill the shoes of the late Jason McGehee.
*Up next was the most popular class at the track, The Allied Battery Stock Cars. I would again put these guys against any stock car driver in the country. Scott Miller redrew the pole and elected to take the Logans Landscape Challenge and swap for the 6th starting spot to win an additional $500. It didn’t take long to see the front 4 rows in a battle for every inch of space. Rocket Reimer got to the point after battling with Kendall Kemp for 4 laps. The Kemp brothers held in line finishing Kendall 2nd, Kyler 3rd. Beau Davis snuck into 4th and Austin “baby” Ramey found the scales and got 5th.
*The Alternative Pest Management USRA Modifieds checked in 25 cars this week, 23 cars made it to the green flag in the A-Feature as they fight for the $5000 point money bright you by SlotKingChris / Wichita Tire and Alignment! Challenge accepted again for the 65 of Tyler Davis that elected to start 6th for the shot at the $500 bonus. He quickly jumped to 4th on the first lap and battled alongside Chris Kratzer, Dan Powers and Kirby Robe while Paden Phillips charged ahead from the front row. Tyler Davis finally made it to second and challenged Paden a few times but it was Paden on the scales first in his Sonic Racing #127! Davis 2nd , Powers 3rd, Kratzer 4th, and “Big Mex” Austin Rogers for 5th.
*This week the Wickham Heating & Air Conditioning Mini-Stocks seen the first lap left send many cars to the pits as a pile-up occurred in turn 3. Once going Karson Keeler was in the lead but couldn’t quite seal the deal as he had a mechanical issue with just 2 laps to go. The 7 car hit the checkers first, but was a DQ for not having the same car as the driver had driven in the heat race. Ken Hapy was given the hardware as he earned the win. Brent Cox home in 2nd, Cameron Vandusen for 3rd!!!
*The Poorman Auto Supply USRA-B Mods were the featured class in the first ever 2 Twisted Productions Bat Race!! The top 6 drivers that normally get a computer random redraw all came to the front stretch and had to spin around a baseball bat 10 times each and make a 20 yard sprint to the finish line to determine their starting position in the A-Feature! From the sound of the crowd and the smiles from the drivers this will be a mainstay for the rest of the season!!! Once the cars took to the speedway The Inaugural Bat race winner Slade Mohr took the Logan’s Landscape $500 challenge and dropped to the 6th starting spot. Tyler Kidwell said thank you very much and went on to a convincing victory. Mathew Kay 2nd, KC Mullin 3rd, Dylan Cherry 4th and LPR Josh Lanterman rounding out the top 5!

Thank you to the racers, crews, fans and particularly the staff for working all day in the heat to even get the facility in order after 2” of rain the night before.
