Park City, KS: Saturday night at 81 Speedway (Owasso, Oklahoma) racer Ty Hulsey won his first ever Wholesale Batteries USAC MWRA Sprint Car feature driving the Risleys Trash Service 24H in impressive fashion over, (Bonham, Texas) driver Kobe Simpson in the 21K, Brad Wyatt of (Kearney, Missouri) running the Valor Racing 41, (Wichita, Kansas) stalwart Jeremy Campbell, in the JCM 10c, and Hulsey teammate, Craig Carroll of (Collinsville, OK) RTS 24c, rounding out the top 5. While (Topeka, KS) chauffeur Wyatt Burks, Zach Clark of (Raymore, MO.), Braydon Cromwell (Lone Jack, MO.), Chris Parkinson, (Gladstone, MO.) and Chad Frewaldt (Kansas City, KS.) would complete the top 10 on a beautiful night for racing after a hot day in South Central Kansas.
The former USAC WSO Champ Hulsey was so impressive in running away with the 25 lap feature event his margin of victory was a whopping 12 seconds over his closest competitor! Meanwhile, positions 2 thru 6 were a dog fight with Simpson making a last corner pass on Wyatt to take home second, after finishing 4th at Humboldt Speedway in his first ever MWRA start. Wyatt was also impressive all weekend long taking heat race wins on both Friday and Saturday night, and then capping it off with his first ever podium with the MWRA. Local hero Campbell took off the wings to once again compete with this USAC Series, advancing from 9th to 4th in the feature winning the Midwest Wingless Racing Association Hard Charger award. While Simpson took home the Xtreme Color farthest traveler award, and Justin Johnson the Valor Racing contingency cash. The USAC MWRA Sprints will next be in action at US36 Raceway in Osborn, Missouri on May 26.
