It may have been April Fool's Day but there was no fooling at 81 Speedway as we kicked of the season with some really good racing through out the night and the race of the night was the Alternative Pest Management USRA Modifieds. The race started with T.J. Tolan in the 99T getting off to a great start by getting the lead and running away with it but with the back of the field trying to catch him. A late Caution allowed the field to get bunched back up and at the end after that caution allowed the 65 of Hollywood Tyler Davis to catch him and make a pass to pick up the win of the opening night. Tyler Davis started where he left off last season by picking up a big win at the USMTS Spooktacular that ended the season at 81 Speedway. Another driver that had a good run was the 75 of Tad Davis that started 11th and finished 4th another notable who made a lot of moves was the 15G of Scott Green who started 13th and finished 5th.
The BSB Manufacturing USRA B-Mods was started by having the missing man formation for 81 Speedway past Race Director Rodney Dodds and then was dominated by the 5 of Reece Solander out of Iola, KS. We saw some struggles from some top competitors in that class which was the 7G of Gabe Hodges and also the 54 of Tyler Kidwell. The driver who tried to catch up with Reece Solander was the 17 of Henry Chambers but just could not find enough to catch up but had a solid finish in the runner-up spot.
Auto Tech Service Super Stocks saw the 24B of David Blocker from Newton, KS get out to a lead and looking like a championship contender again this year. It will be interesting to see if the other drivers can find the speed he has to catch him and not let him get to much of a big lead in the points and keep it close all year long. The 311R of Jerry Richey had a good running coming in 2nd.
Well we had a new class come over to 81 Speedway which usually races over at Humboldt Speedway of the Home Savings Bank Factory Stock. We did not have the turn out that we wanted but wanted to bring them over to show the people of 81 Speedway to see what kind of racing they do. The driver from Chanute, KS of 36A Braden Bowman got out to a good lead and never look back on his good run at 81 Speedway.
We Hope to see everybody come out to 81 Speedway this coming weekend where we will have the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars.
