John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (August 9, 2022) - 81 Speedway will host the Complete Well Testing Sooner Late Model Series for the second time this season on Saturday.
Brett Hansen of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma won the main event at 81 Speedway on June 11 and was chased to the finish by series points leader Hayden Ross. Ross won his fifth main event of the season last Saturday at Enid Speedway and will be trying to atone for his June loss to Hansen this weekend.
Ross, of Muskogee, leads 4-time defending champion Kip Hughes in the points chase in his quest for a first ever championship. Eddie Martin of Stillwell, Oklahoma is sitting in third and looking for his first victory. Muskogee’s Kerney Weaver holds down fourth and Richard Shepler of Mounds, Oklahoma rounds out the top five.
While Ross leads the win chart with five victories, Hansen is close behind with four, Hughes has three while Dustin Allen and Jamie Burford have two each.
Pits at 81 Speedway open at 3 p.m. and grandstands at 5. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:15 with racing getting underway at 7.
